CBD FAQs

What is CBD (cannabidiol)?

In hemp and cannabis plants there are over 100 compounds which are known as cannabinoids, CBD is just one of these.  Although it was discovered over 50 years ago, only recently has it become popular as a supplement. Cannabidiol has become known in recent years for its wellness benefits.

CBD is a non-psychoactive ingredient that has no mind-altering effects. The psychoactive element which is often associated with cannabis is called tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). The levels of THC in CBD-based products are legally required to be incredibly low, at 0.2% or less.

What is Hemp Extract oil?

Hemp extract oil is the phrase used to describe the CBD extract which doesn’t just contain isolated CBD, but the other naturally occurring compounds found in the plant.

CBD Oil vs Hemp Oil?

Although CBD oil and hemp oil comes from the same plant, they are derived from different parts and have different uses.

Hemp oil is taken from the seeds of the plant and the oil produced is used in cooking, cosmetics, and supplements. Meanwhile, CBD oil comes from hemp flowers. This part of the plant is high in cannabinoids, which have a deep effect on our wellness.

How does CBD work?

Within each and every one of our bodies, there is a set of receptors that make up the endocannabinoid system. Cannabinoids interact with these receptors by controlling and regulating certain bodily functions and processes.

Will I get high from CBD products?

No, there are no intoxicating or mind-altering side effects from taking our CBD products.

I'm new to CBD, which CBD product is best for me?

When starting to take CBD, one of the most important factors, is being able to control your dosage. For this reason, we often recommend either the oil, with which you can slowly increase the dosage, or capsules – which allow you to know precisely how much you are taking every time. There are many different types of CBD products, so it is also crucial to check whether the customer is looking for an oral, vape, or topical experience.

What is the recommended daily dose?

Initially, we recommend beginning with a dose of 5-10mg per day. Increase your dosage in small increments and take note of how you’re affected with different doses. The average daily dose is between 30-50mg, and this will vary from person to person. Current guidelines from the Food Standard Agency (FSA) state that the recommended maximum daily dosage is 70mg.

Are there any side effects?

If you are taking any form of medication it is important that you consult with your doctor or health practitioner prior to starting to take CBD.

CBD can have an effect on blood sugar levels, so if taken on an empty stomach you may experience sensations of lightheadedness or nausea. Take the supplement with food to avoid this happening.

How long does it take for CBD to have an effect?

The onset of effects for CBD will differ depending on the product. Vapes are a popular means of consumption due to the immediacy of the onset of effects. When vaping CBD, inhaling the vapor allows it to be absorbed into the bloodstream and body pretty much instantaneously.

Meanwhile, when taking it orally or sublingually it can take longer to digest and absorb. Literature dictates that the probable onset of effects for oral administration occurs after one hour, and will reach its peak after roughly three hours.

How can you ensure your products' potency, purity, and quality?

Every one of our batches is marked with certification, meaning that we can track and trace the journey from production, to the independent laboratory testing. See our COA. Additionally, our products are both vegan and non-GMO.

What does it mean if CBD products are lab-tested?

The CBD industry still remains somewhat unregulated, leaving room for low-grade operations to try and turn a quick profit with a low-quality product. Independent third-party lab testing is a way for companies to prove that their operation and final products are legitimate, with certifications for quality assurance and purity.
